Chestnuts are typical autumn delicacy we love to prepare at home or buy from the street vendors. With their unique flavour, we can really feel the autumn season.
The common way to prepare chestnuts is by roasting them. Roasted chestnuts are the traditional symbol of autumnal days and their scent is irresistible.

One of my favourite winter treats, chestnuts, or ‘Kastana’ in Greek. I have fond memories of picking these off the tree as a child When spending one magical winter in Greece. There’s also that time I sent my husband out to get some to satisfy a mid-pregnancy craving & returned with nothing because no one at the supermarket knew what ‘kastana’ were. #wrongcountrybabe Tonight I plan to sit by the fire with a whole bag of them and try share with the family.
