At the end of March, a newly marked hiking trail opened. With group walking and socializing, one of the most beautiful recreational trails in Croatia was celebrated.

It is a circular Korana hiking trail that starts at the former primary school in the village Gnojnice (Municipality Cetingrad) and leads along the abyss Jovac, and then the Korana canyon with several colorful mills to the local beach on Korana. From the beach, the trail goes sharply towards Crkvina, the highest point of the road (295 m) where the local chapel and the remains of the church from the 15th century are located. From there, the trail continues over Crvene stijene, which offers a beautiful view of the Korana and the mills, back to the school.

The trail is located in the area of Kordun and Karlovac County, and this region is bordered by four rivers; in the north with Kupa, in the south with Korana, in the west with Mrežnica and in the east with the river Glina and the border with Bosnia and Herzegovina. The region is predominantly hilly terrain with smaller elevations so the trail is also very moderate and pleasant to walk. You will be accompanied by a fairytale-like forest environment with streams and water sources. Most of the trail runs along the Korana River.

The initiative to start and mark this beautiful hiking trail was initiated by members of the Mountaineering Association “Crvene stijene” and members of “Osmica” from Karlovac.
