The Croatian National Tourist Board office in New York is participating in the most important tourist event on the American continent – Virtuoso Travel Week, which brings together representatives of the most influential tourist entities specializing in luxury and experiential travel.

Virtuoso Travel Week takes place from 8 to 13 August and brings together more than 3,300 top luxury travel professionals, travel advisors and intermediaries, representatives of hotels and resorts, airlines, cruise companies, travel agencies, tour operators and the tourist community from 102 countries, and this is the first luxury travel event since the beginning of the pandemic to be held hybridlike. Namely, 1,500 participants are participating in the conference at Bellagio Resort & Casino, ARIA Resort & Casino and Vdara Hotel & Spa in Las Vegas, while 1,800 participants are participating virtually.

At the opening ceremony conference “Imagine what can be”, keynote speaker Adam Grant, a renowned psychologist, author and professor at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, gave an insight into the power of questioning, calling it “a key skill not only for dealing with crisis but for moving through complex social issues and making good business decisions.” Virtuoso founder and CEO Matthew Upchurcha underlined that the pandemic was the most devastating for workers in the tourism industry, and sent a message of hope, faith in the potential for rapid recovery and new opportunities for development and responsible growth. He highlighted that travel and tourism can strengthen and motivate individuals and their communities and bring people together in general and provide a basis for a more responsible and quality life.
