“This was definitely a highlight of our Croatia trip!”

HUMANS OF PLITVICE

Jeromie and Madeline Hill, a young married couple from America and Australia are fulfilling a dream of travel & adventure!

Mostly they’re in search of great wine and incredible views and they traded in one incredible life for another. Madeline was a primary school teacher, and Jeromie a professional basketball player.

Now, they’re millennials on a mission! With just a laptop in hand and hearts of wanderlust, they work remotely and bounce from one incredible experience to the next. One of them was Plitvice Lakes…

“We saw pictures of Plitvice online and knew we had to come! We specifically drove to Zadar to spend the night just to visit the park. It was our first visit and definitely not our last! We heard about the endless trails of beautiful waterfalls and wanted to see for ourselves.”

The colours were just beautiful and they admit that they would love to visit Plitvice at all times of the year just to see it change with the seasons.

“There are so many beautiful waterfalls and we kept stopping to take pictures. We were so shocked at how clear and blue the water was. Every corner of this National Park is so picturesque. Our favourite points were along the trail of A at Slapovi Milke Trnine. You could see all the foliage with the bright blue water. Our favourite waterfall was Gradinsko. We were in awe at how strong these waterfalls were. The Upper Waterfalls are unmissable as well!”

Jeromie and Madeline travel the world and they suggest our readers to visit the Greek islands and Zakynthos and also one place that reminds them of Plitvice – city of Cairns, Australia, located in the Rainforest with waterfalls and lush greenery everywhere.

“Without a doubt, Plitvice is a must see! We wish we had more days to explore this beautiful area. Croatia as a whole is such a gem and we will be back as soon as we can!

The best tips we can make for visiting this park is: 1. Arrive early. The park is incredible in the morning and you feel like you are the only one there! 2. Plan the trails that you would like to walk/ hike. This will help you determine what entrance to park at and enter into. 3. Bring a picnic! There are so many places to stop and enjoy a meal! It’s a long day and you will need something to keep you energized!”

They will definitely come back to Plitvice during different seasons to see how the park changes!

“Definitely a highlight of our Croatia trip!”
