In the context of the World Expo 2020, HRH the Hereditary Grand Duke and the Minister for Tourism and Minister for the Middle Classes, Lex Delles, will lead a tourism promotion mission to Dubai and will participate from 6 to 8 November 2021 in the “Luxembourg Tourism Days” as well as the “Made in Luxembourg” week closing ceremony. A delegation with various tourism actors, as well as the national tourism promotion agency, Luxembourg for Tourism, and the Luxembourg Convention Bureau, the official representative of the Grand Duchy for the promotion of professional events, will accompany HRH the Hereditary Grand Duke and Minister Lex Delles to Dubai.

Luxembourg’s presence at the Expo 2020 Dubai represents a unique opportunity to promote the tourism assets and know-how of Luxembourg companies. In this context, the Directorate General for Tourism will organise the “Luxembourg Tourism Days” from 8 to 10 November within the Luxembourg pavilion in Dubai, which will include the setting up of a village of stands with various exhibitors from the tourism sector to highlight their diversity and creativity. In addition, there will be the installation of the “Luxembourg Sky Swing”, a swing that will take visitors to the Luxembourg pavilion on a virtual journey through Luxembourg, and the presence of professional tourist guides who will give additional explanations on the attractions of the country. HRH the Hereditary Grand Duke and the Minister for Tourism and Minister for the Middle Classes, Lex Delles, will then open a workshop entitled “Inspiring travel & meeting experiences in Luxembourg”.

This seminar will provide an opportunity to present the Luxembourg leisure and business tourism sectors to the Emiratis.

In addition to the tourism component, HRH the Hereditary Grand Duke and the Minister for Tourism and Minister for the Middle Classes, Lex Delles, will close the “Made in Luxembourg” week organised by the Chamber of Commerce from 1 to 6 November 2021 at the Luxembourg pavilion. This event will highlight the variety and quality of work of Luxembourg’s small and medium-sized enterprises. HRH the Hereditary Grand Duke and Lex Delles will tour the various stands and meet the exhibitors.

The mission’s programme includes a visit to several foreign pavilions on the Expo 2020 Dubai site, including the host country’s pavilion, the United Arab Emirates. Minister Lex Delles will also have the opportunity to visit the Dubai Exhibition Centre, a 45,000 square metre event space located in the heart of the site.

In addition to these events, HRH the Hereditary Grand Duke and Minister Lex Delles will meet with the UAE Secretary of State for Entrepreneurship and SMEs, Dr. Ahmad Belhoul Al Falasi. Minister Lex Delles will also have several meetings with key players in the UAE tourism and middle-class sector. He will have the opportunity to meet with the Director General of Dubai’s Department of Economy and Tourism Department, Helal Saeed Al Marri, as well as the CEO of Dubai SME, Abdulbaset Al Janahi.
