Lonely Planet highlights Croatia as a destination for digital nomads

In its latest article, the world’s leading brand of tourist guides Lonely Planet writes about Croatia as a destination for digital nomads, said Ina Rodin, Director of the Croatian National Tourist Board representative office in the United States.

The article entitled “How to spend a year in Croatia as a digital nomad” lists the conditions that foreigners must meet in order to spend a year in Croatia via a digital nomad staying permit. In addition to the official conditions they must meet, they also listed the advantages of Croatia such as beautiful beaches, historic buildings, rich cultural heritage and numerous opportunities for active holidays.

„Soon we will launch a separate marketing campaign that will communicate all the advantages of our country as a suitable and attractive destination for digital nomads. We will especially focus our activities on the markets of the USA, Canada, Great Britain and Ireland “, said the Director of the Croatian National Tourist Board Kristjan Staničić.

Along with Lonely Planet other American media have been writing about Croatian destinations in recent days. The popular and well-known American travel magazine Travel + Leisure has included Dubrovnik’s Sveti Jakov beach among one of the most beautiful European beaches. This Dubrovnik beach is on the list of top 10 secret beaches in Europe that are worth visiting and it is listed among other attractive beaches in Italy, Portugal, Spain, Greece, Cyprus and France. The author of the article states that the pebble beach of Sveti Jakov is located only a kilometre south of the city centre, with a beautiful view on the island of Lokrum, as well as the view of old town.

It is also worth noting that the American online magazine Money Inc ranked Zadar and Dubrovnik among the top 20 European destinations surrounded by beautiful nature. Dubrovnik ranked a high 4th place, and the author of the article calls it the Adriatic Pearl which also hides countless opportunities for spending free time such as hiking, fishing, swimming and diving. Zadar is ranked 17th, and the proximity of numerous beaches and the Plitvice Lakes National Park are listed as its biggest advantage.
