The bad side of tourism in Croatia: The old town centers of Dalmatian towns are bursting at the seams

Since the beginning of this year, more than 12 million tourists have visited Croatia, and there are currently more than one million guests in staying there, reports dnevnik.hr.

Tourists, as well as local residents, are looking for peace. The old city centers of Dalmatian cities are bursting at the seams.

“What is happening right now is actually a chain reaction and it is growing uncontrollably and spontaneously, and that is what needs to be simply arranged,” said Danijel Radeta, the owner of the travel agency.

Who will work in tourism, to present the sustainable tourism strategy? We are already importing as many as 26,602 foreign workers due to the season. The black market is also a problem.

“And this kind of attitude that the sector calls out the sector is not true. Everyone needs to do something. Tourists alone. Restaurateurs alone. Culturists alone.” said Dina Bušić, head of the Administrative Department for Culture and Sports of the City of Zadar, to a reporter for Dnevnik Nova TV Sanja Jurišić.

Tourism is not just about counting beds, guests and overnight stays. Tourism, as written in the Strategy itself, is a way of life, or at least it should be.
