FINALLY A fin whale spotted in Velebit channel!

WOW!

Just a few days ago Blue World Institute shared that they were looking for fin whale in Velebit channel. Yesterday the search has come to an end! The whale was spotted in Velebit Channel near Starigrad Paklenica.

“Thanks to the reports of many of you who joined us in the search for the whale, we can happily conclude that after a whole morning of searching we found him the next day near Starigrad-Paklenica! Unfortunately, the weather was not in our favor as you can see in the photos! The whale was on the verge of an impending storm and after a few ascents he dived into the storm.”

The Blue World Institute of Marine Research and Conservation (BWI) works to protect the marine environment in the Adriatic Sea. Their research focuses mainly on large marine vertebrates (dolphins and whales, sea turtles, sharks and giant devil rays) informing education activities and conservation projects.
