The first week of September is now traditionally reserved for Croatian Walking Festival, organised by Lika-Senj County Tourist Board.
The Festival will be held on the 7th and 8th of September in Gospić and Otočac on two routes in each city – one short, one long.
September 7th is reserved for Gospić where all participant walkers will conquer two trails with a symbolic name – Tesla. After that, on September 8th the manifestation moves to Otočac, on trails named Gacka.
Last year, people from all over Croatia (from Dubrovnik to Vukovar) came to Lika to participate in this unique sports event, and their reactions throughout the event were so positive and encouraging!
This popular festival provided a great opportunity to meet other people who also love walking, make new friends and discover the stunning landscape. It was also a great way to introduce the kids to walking. Even if you usually walk only as a family unit or by yourself, it’s so fun to share your walking experience with others who enjoy the countryside.
The head of the Lika-Senj County tourist board, Ivan Radošević, has said that they are extremely motivated to position Croatia as a desirable destination on the map of walking festivals.
The impeccable organisation has prepared everything for you so the registration fee includes official t-shirts, start numbers, water, fruit and even transportation between the two cities (for 2-day registration fees). Also, there will be some unexpected surprises so make sure to follow the official website.
Applications for participating in the festival can be sent HERE.
