An interesting video from the past was published on the You Tube channel of Ivan Starčević from HKUD Široka Kula.
The video was recorded in Lovinac in 1969, and shows the original Đikac kolo from Lika. This typical Lika kolo is a silent kolo, because it is danced without the accompaniment of instruments, mostly accompanied by a song.
The name “Đipac” or “Đikac” comes from the words “jipnuti”, “džiknuti”, to jump, which corresponds to the style and technique of kolo dancing.
