With the year coming to an end, and the smell of gingerbread and mince pies sweetening my soul, I took a moment to think about this platform. To figure out why I still love it even after all the shitty things they have done to me. Ugh IG. To end this year on a positive and move in 2019 with a more clear mind. But it didn’t take me long to figure out why I still love it. Instagram to me is all about meeting people. Whether in person or through DMs and comments, I have had the great honour of communication and friendship with so many incredible people from all parts of this amazing world. It has opened my eyes to the amazing talent and love that fills the pages of IG, and for that I thank you Instagram 😊 • Why do you love IG? • • • 📸 @playingwithapparelmen • • • #travelwithpwa #croatia #croatia_lovers #croatiafulloflife #zagreb #visitzagreb #globelletravels #sheisnotlost #femmetravels #dametraveler #prettylittleiiinspo #citizenfemme #speechlessplaces #passionpassport #dirtybootstravel #besties #friendshipgoals #girlsabroad #girlaroundworld #beautifuldestinations #travelgirlsgo #blondesandcookies #tlpicks #viaparadise #travelinladies #wearetravelgirls #thetravelwomen #thehappynow #plitvicelakes #plitvice
Visit the winter home of the Black Queen
The Legend of the Black Queen is already well known, but visiting Plitvice Lakes in the winter time is a unique experience. There is plenty of snow in winter months with ice sculptures that completely change the look of the beautiful Black Queen’s home, just like in this photo. Wow!

January at Plitvice Lakes offers several opportunities for outdoor activities. Walk on the hiking paths, or go skiing and sledging if there is enough snow. Fresh air, untouched nature and total peace will recharge your batteries for the year ahead.
The traditional winter food in Lika-Senj County is so tasteful and caloric, you will have enough strength for all day activities. Try some of the winter specialities at the local restaurants.
