The first Castle rock festival was held under the organization of the Notalik Association of Brinje musicians and the Brinje Tourist Board as part of the “Brinje summer 2022” event.
The festival continued the next day with the opening of an exhibition of works by little-known authors from Brinje under the name “Evo Brinjska ruka“: Zdravko Rajković and Đurđica Biondić (paintings), the Bićanić family (wood and ceramics), Ante Bublić (wood), Milan Maljković (replicas of world-famous guitars).
When it comes to the written word, the exhibition was enriched by the Native Club of Brinje with its Brinje heralds and Monetium magazine.
In the publishing and literature section, Damir Karakaš was also presented. All his original editions in foreign translations were introduced.
A special and emotional part of the event was the exhibition of photos of Brinje society and their social life from the 1960s to the end of the 1980s.
The opening of this exhibition exceeded all expectations – Marjan Prpić Luka, president of the Notalika association, told us: “Extremely positive comments from all the visitors who, apart from Brinje, came from other places. Brinje has such creative people and artists we didn’t even know about. The conclusion is that this exhibition is such that no big city would be ashamed of it.
We are very happy about that, as well as about the daily visits that continued in the following days.”
The Castle Rock Festival had its finale with an open-air rock concert called “80s were the years” where TNT and Bijeli oblaci from Brinje, Top Gun from the island, the legendary Likosi from Gospić, Tice Nebeske from Senj and Master from Ogulin performed. They were greeted by an ever-larger audience at Pista, and the concert was spiced up by special guests Jurica Pađen and Aerodrom.
Castle rock festival organized by the association Notalika was helped by the Municipality of Brinje, HBOR, TZ Lika-Senj County, TZ Brinje and cafe bar Mack.
