Everybody have heard of the world-famous beach in the Bahamas, where you are accompanied by adorable little pigs. Equally popular is the beach in Aruba where you can hang out with flamingos, while in Mexico you can try a unique swimming experience with giant turtles.
However, we are sure that you did not know that Croatia also hides a beautiful location with beaches inhabited by animals that will be happy to welcome you in one of the fairytale bays. This place is island of Badija and it is inhabited by deer!
The beautiful island of Badija is the largest of the 19 islands located in the Korcula archipelago. The easiest way to get to Badija is a taxi boat from Korcula, which runs every 30 minutes during the season, and which will allow you to easily visit several islands in one day. Arriving to Badija, you will surprised by the unique festive welcome of deer who love to gather right where the passengers get off the boat.
The deer arrived on Badija in the 1950s, when fallow deer migrated from Brijuni. Apart from deer, which are an attraction of the whole place, Badija will delight you with its crystal clear sea and beautiful bays where you will want to spend the entire day. We advise you to take a walk through the islands, along a path that is a little less than 5 kilometers long and along which you will visit the whole place and discover the charms of this small, still unknown, island that you will fall in love with at first sight!
