Excellent success of Croatian olive oil at the world competition!

At the New York International Olive Oil Competition, the world championship in olive oil competition, Croatia is in third place in terms of the number of medals won, right after Italy and Spain, reports maslina.slobodnadalmacija.hr.

In addition, Croatia is the best in terms of the percentage of success of its registered olive oils! Out of 112 registered samples from Croatia, 96 of them received medals, which is 86 percent of success, and this is the best performance of olive oils of all countries that reported more than 40 samples.

ISTRIANS – MOST GOLD MEDALS

Olive oils from Croatia won a total of 96 medals, of which 66 gold and 27 silver. Dalmatian olive growers won the most medals for Croatia with their oils – a total of 55 medals.

The highest number of gold medals for Croatia this year was won by Istrians. Dalmatians won 29 gold medals, Istrians 37.

Olive oils from all over the world competed, and a total of 543 gold and 257 silver medals were awarded.

  5. Greece – 79 medals
  6. Turkey – 65 medals
  7. Portugal – 35 medals
  8. Tunisia – 31 medals

  10. Australia – 13 medals

The World Cup in New York says a lot, and above all that Croatia can comfortably and deservedly reach the top of the world. The united olive regions of Istria, Dalmatia and Kvarner (Krk and Rab with their three medals) have proved to the world in the fiercest competition that Croatian oils are the most elite, most valuable olive oils on the globe.
