The Croatian National Tourist Board just presented a national tourist offer at the ATM – Arabian Travel Market, held in Dubai from 22 to 25 April. The fair and the Croatian booth were visited by Minister of Tourism Gari Cappelli and Director of the Croatian Tourist Board Kristjan Staničić, who met on that occasion with state officials and numerous partners in the United Arab Emirates market, and also with representatives of the companies such as Emirates, FlyDubaia and Thomas Cook India.
ATM Dubai is the largest and most visited tourist fair in the Middle East. Approximately 40,000 tourist workers and officials from around the world attended the fair, and it is estimated that around 2.5 billion US dollars will be contracted during the fair.
Concerning the United Arab Emirates, the Croatian tourism sector has generated 8600 arrivals and over 23,000 overnights in the past year, representing a growth of 78% in arrivals and 72% in overnight stays in 2016. Positive trends have been retained in the current part of the year, with more than 1000 arrivals and 2500 overnight stays, which in comparison with the same year has risen by a high three-digit increase of 134% in arrivals and 149% in overnight stays.
Apart from the participation at the ATM fair, this year, in cooperation with one of the largest agencies of UAE Dnata, was held a presentation about Croatia. Positive trends will also be provided by the planned organization of the arrival of 30 agents from the UAE market at the Central European Tourism Summit (CETS), which will take place in Zagreb on 4 and 5 December 2018.
