Lička Plješivica, a mountain located near Plitvice Lakes is a great choice for an active day with your friends or family. This giant on the border with Bosnia and Herzegovina is part of the Dinaric Alps and if you are looking for an adventure to remember- this is the place for you.
If you are going on foot, walking and climbing will last about 3 hours, and yes, if you are feeling particularly lazy that day, you can come to the top by car in about 30 minutes.
Remember that there is a very strong wind on the top, so bring some extra clothes.
Gola Plješevica peak at 1648m over the see level is a great sightseeing point, and on the south part of the ridge there is a civil radio relay station.
Fun fact is that Željava Air Base, the largest underground airbase in Yugoslavia, is located inside of Plješivica.
