The increase of tourist arrivals in Croatia increased the total number of accommodation capacities in 2019.
During 2019, 56 new hotels, camps and marinas opened in Croatia and 30 of them were categorized with four and five stars.
43 new hotels
In 2019, the Ministry of Tourism categorized 43 new hotels with 3,948 beds while 26 hotels increased capacity or category. Most new hotels opened in the Split-Dalmatia County (13), Primorje-Gorski Kotar County (6), the City of Zagreb (6) and the Istria County (5). In continental counties, a total of 5 new hotels were categorized in 2019.
More than 3,000 new campsites
In 2019, the Ministry of Tourism categorized 10 new camps with a total of 3,252 campsites. The largest number of new camps were categorized in Zadar County (4 camps with 485 campsites) and Istria County (2 camps with 280 campsites), and 2 new camps in 2019 were opened on the continent (Krapinske Toplice and Vrhovine in Lika).
New marinas
In 2019, three new marinas were opened with a total of 774 berths. One new marina is opened in Primorje – Gorski Kotar County (Cres), Dubrovnik – Neretva County (Dubrovnik) and Istria County (Medulin).
