Luka Modrić is from Croatia, from a small village Modrići near Zadar. On March 1, 2006, Luka Modrić debuted for the Croatia national football team, and ever since his career just went up. Modrić is a Croatian surname primarily from Zadar-Benkovac area in North Dalmatia and Luka spent his early years there until Croatia’s 1990s independence war broke out.
