EDITOR’S NOTE
This summer issue of The Plitvice Times is a story that brings new touristic ideas, and we made sure that it encompasses a wide array of interests and pleasures. „Croatia – Full of Life“ is the slogan of the Croatian National Tourist Board, and such is this issue as well – full of life of the Plitvice Lakes and the Lika-Senj County, but also full of peace and quiet.
With summer finally here, our reporter Nino visited the coastal part of the Lika-Senj County so we bring exclusive recommendations for six amazing beaches that will take your breath away. Looking at the photos, we thought we were looking at an exotic ocean destination, but everything you see is here in Croatia. Additionally, we bring a story about fishing in the Gacka Valley, we present an incredible event in Otočac, and we gallop our way to the magic of horses in the Plitvice Valleys where you can ride over three fantastic trails on horseback.
We haven’t forgotten our Velebit either! Our reporter Milan visited one of the most beautiful roads in Croatia – the Master’s Road. We bring you amazing evening photos as well as interesting facts about its history and construction.
This issue’s Tale of a Host comes from Korenica, or more specifically Rudanovac. Stanica Nikolić and her family decided to enter the hospitality business, and the spotless reviews her guests are leaving made us want to sit down and see what her secret is.
Two international stories can also be found on the pages of The Plitvice Times – Skopje and Dubai. Our associate Tamara visited Skopje and told us all about it, while our reporter Ante visited the Arabian Travel Market 2019 in Dubai and he told us a tale of luxury and one of the largest tourist fairs in the world.
We also bring you two interviews in this issue. We sat down with Ivan Radošević, the man in charge of tourism in the Lika-Senj County, and we asked him all about the many awards won for the incredible promotional video about Lika. The second interview is about the Zadar Airport which connects Dalmatia and Lika with the rest of Croatia and the world. Director Josip Klišmanić told us all about the airport’s history and success.
The Plitvice Times is proudly moving forward, you can find us at over 60 locations across Croatia and Europe, and in addition to Beč and Bihać you can now also read us in Rome! We hope you like what we have prepared for you and that you take in all the stories and photos. Enjoy the magazine!
