Popular British newspaper, The Mirror, which boasts about 32 million readers a month, has published an article reporting that Croatia will be open to British tourists once the travel restrictions in the UK have been eased, said the director of the CNTB Representative office in the UK, Darija Reić.
“The Brits are very eager to travel and it is only a matter of time before they will be able to do so again. The UK has one of the most successful vaccination rollouts, which is certainly a promising factor for restarting international travel, and timely information on the conditions of entry to Croatia, as well as continuous communication on everything Croatia does to remain safe for tourists will certainly persuade many Brits to choose precisely our destinations this summer”, said Reić.
The article outlines that the British could soon travel freely to Croatia, if they meet one of the prescribed conditions, i.e. provide proof of vaccination, negative PCR or antigen test or a certificate of recovery from COVID-19 not older than 180 days. In addition, the article explains that all tourists must have a confirmation of booked accommodation in Croatia and fill in an online form before traveling to Croatia. As it was emphasized in the text, these new rules which apply to tourists from EU and non-EU countries are valid from April 1st.
These rules will apply after the travel restrictions in the United Kingdom are relaxed. International travel is currently banned in the UK, but the travel restrictions are expected to ease after May 17th. The author of the article additionally states that, in addition to a short tourist stay, the British can spend the whole year in Croatia, using a digital nomads “visa”.
News about the new measures when entering Croatia have also been covered by the British The Independent, Express as well as travel platforms TTG Media and Travel Weekly.
