Mulled wine, also known as spiced wine, is an alcoholic drink usually made with red wine, along with various mulling spices, served hot. It is a traditional drink during winter in Europe, so no wonder you will find it everywhere during Advent.
Prepare it with us!
750 ml of red wine
150 g of sugar
150 ml orange juice, freshly squeezed
Lemon sugar (or lemon zest)
1 pc star anise
ground ginger on the tip of a knife
1 cinnamon stick
1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
5 whole cloves
1. Put sugar, spices, lemon and orange peels in a saucepan and pour wine, just enough so that the wine covers the sugar. Cook over low heat until the sugar dissolves and the mass becomes thick and sticky.
2. Add the rest of the wine to the freshly squeezed orange juice. Cook while stirring for another 5 minutes.
Enjoy the cold winter days!
